The Buchanhaven Hearts and PFC Community Foundation development side participated in a bounce game with 2009 and 2010 players from Peterhead Boys Club last night and it was great to see this clear player pathway in action, giving younger players an opportunity to show their talent as they gave the devlopment team a good competitive game.
From Buchanhaven Hearts Youth Development Assistant Manager, Tom Penfold: “It was good to have some of the best local young talent along to join in a bounce game with our development side this evening. It was a very evenly contested competitive session, with a lot of good football on show. A lot of these guys did not look out of place amongst our current squad and we hope to see a lot more of them in the future.
Tonight proved to be a successful night and we will look to do more sessions like this after the new year.
Thanks to Buchanhaven Hearts first team players Lewis Brown, Adam Cross and Jake Ritchie and development coach Kevin Cunningham for coming along and passing on valuable knowledge and encouragement to the boys I’m sure that would of been a massive boost to the lads.
Also a big thanks to Peterhead boys club coaches Jason Mackinnon, Steven Gladstone and Martin Brown and the rest of the 2009 and 2010 coaches for the support and organising of their players and lastly to the players themselves for coming along a few days before Christmas to participate. We hope to see you again after the new year”.
